The work environment at Duke Cancer Center Snyderman building is fairly relaxed. Going in, I imagined that it would be very formal and everyone would constantly be wearing lab coats and goggles while focusing on their own experiments how it is typically depicted in movies. But when I got here it was significantly more informal than I thought. Everyone is super helpful and I am not scared to ask any of them questions. Everyone I have spoken to has been informative and kind while I learn. The work environment is also very collaborative, everyone talks to the other researchers about their projects and just things going on at first. The dress code is fairly casual. It is a lab so closed toed shoes are required and most people wear long pants, but 99% of the people wear casual jeans or capris and a casual t shirt.
